The Perth Mint opened in 1899 as a branch of Britain's Royal Mint and is owned today by the Government of Western Australia. It is an LBMA-accredited refiner, and its swan mark — the mint's registered LBMA mark — appears on every bar.
The minted Kangaroo bars are struck in 99.99% fine gold with the mint's kangaroo motifs on the reverse. Each bar is sealed in a tamper-evident assay card that reveals VOID if opened, with the serial number printed on the card.
